NDC should stop going to court without evidence- Ahiagbah

The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mr. Richard Ahiagbah has chastised the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to halt going to court and filing cases without concrete evidence.

He made this comment following the dismissal of the NDC Techiman South parliamentary election petition by the court.

The Wenchi High court in its judgment on Wednesday, November 30, fined the opposition Party NDC GHS100,000.

The said election petition was filed by the 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for the party, Christopher Beyere Baasongti against the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) and Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, the winner of the parliamentary election.

NDC mentioned irregularities in the collation of results and subsequent declarations as some of the rationale behind the petition.

The party had a strong belief that the verdict was stolen for the NPP candidate by the elections body for which they headed to court.

Reacting to the dismissal of the case in a tweet, Mr Ahiagbah said “Memo to the NDC: 1. Stop going to court without evidence 2. Stop making rush claims about electoral malpractice and attacking the EC without evidence 3.

“Trust the electoral process to save lives!”
