The late Christian Atsu’s wife, Marie Claire Rupio has replied reckless comments passed by some netizens after she posted a video of her dancing to Davido’s unavailable song.
She posted a video three days ago on her Instagram handle boogieing to Nigerian Afrobeats Artiste, Davido’s “Unavailable” which comes off his Timeless Album.
In the video, she gave off the “unavailable dance trend” in an impressive style and wrote “@davido-unavailable I was hesitating to post this, as I am just trying to get up into dancing again…slowly” which lots of people commended her on.
However, this didn’t go down well with others as they lambasted the widow for moving on so fast after her husband’s tragic death. Some of the comments alluded to how African widows look morosed even months after their late husbands burial.
In a story posted on her Instagram handle, she has replied people who came at her for dancing energetically months after her husband’s burial.
She emphasized that she indeed posted the video and reckoned in the reply she didn’t dance due to happiness but she did so to deal with her grief.
“I am writing just to say a few things, yes I posted a dance video. Not because I am happy but because I have to find a way to deal with my grief.” The statement read.
Claire cited her dance as a way of dealing with mental health in as much as she has passion for dancing and further cautioned the person’s responsible for the harsh comments to think before they write.
” I am not alone, I have 3 children to take care of by myself. I can’t loose myself, because I need to be strong for them. And in Europe, you deal with mental health in a lot of ways and dancing was always my passion. So excuse me, but please just think before you write something or put it on YouTube. Thank you” she wrote.
She narrated that her kids have been asking her of their father’s whereabouts and that she is doing her best as mother.
“We are missing Christian every single day and it hasn’t been easy. Especially when you have 3 children, who are asking everyday for their dad! I am doing my best.” She said.
Christian Atsu died in a 7.8 magnitude earthquake in turkey which rent down the apartment he was residing in. The footballer and philanthropist’s body was found two weeks after the earthquake and was duly buried in his hometown.
