Manchester City march on to treble dream as they clinch FA Cup.

Manchester City has bagged the Emirates FA Cup in addition to the Premier League trophy after trailing Manchester United in a 2-1 victory at Wembley.

The first-ever Manchester derby in the FA Cup final saw the Cityzens crush the Red Devils courtesy of captain Ilkay Gundongan’s brace which gave Manchester City the upper hand even after Bruno’s 33rd-minute goal.

The game put fans worldwide in shock as Ilkay Gundogan struck the ball into the net putting De Gea stuck just after the whistle was blown for kick-off.

A header from Right back Wan Bissaka touched Jack Grealish’s hand in the 18-yard box and a penalty was awarded after a VAR check in the 33rd minute and Bruno Fernandes equalized for the Reds

Ilkay Gundogan closed the curtain to scoring with his 50th-minute goal which gave City the nod over Manchester United.

Pep Guardiola has won 11 titles with Manchester City: 5 Premier League titles (2017-18, 2018-19, 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23), Carabao Cup: 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019 -20, 2020-21, FA Cup: 2018-19,2022-23.

City’s victory over United has extended the record for the longest time between a club’s first FA Cup win and most recent – 119 years – with their first success in the competition coming back in 1904.

Captain for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes stated the team has made big step towards next season amidst losing to their rival.

“Everyone is down and it’s really difficult. We wanted to end the season in a different way but it wasn’t possible”.

“We’ve made big steps for next season, it wasn’t a successful season overall but it was a good one. We have to come back next season and try to win bigger trophies.”

“We were too soft and gave up too much space for the first goal but it’s an amazing strike. If players are tighter then maybe they can stop it but it’s an amazing strike.”

“He’s [Gundogan] an amazing player and one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.” He said

Captain of the winning side, Ilkay Gundogan expressed his joy over the FA Cup which he seems “the most beautiful domestic club competition in the world.”

“Everyone knows the FA Cup is the most beautiful domestic club competition in the world, so to win this trophy again and complete the Double is amazing for us,” he said.

“To win the Double in England is incredibly difficult and reflects all the hard work the players and staff have put in over the course of the season. “I am so proud to captain this side – it is an honor to be part of this squad.” He stated

Manchester City chases their treble dream as they await the Champions League final against Inter Milan at Instabul. This could put Erling Haaland ahead of 7 times Ballon d’Or winner, Lionel Messi for the most coveted Male football award the Ballon d’Or.
