Hi-life legend, Nana Amakaye Dede clashed with the PRO for Charterhouse, Robert Klah, on Abeiku Santana’ Ekwanso Dwoodwoo where the latter defended Charter House as not responsible for the Kuami Eugene crown saga.
Mr. Robert Klah has debunked claims that Charterhouse was responsible for Amakye Dede crowning Kuami Eugene as the Prince of Hi-life at the Grand Arena in 2019 and stated clearly that the organizers of the event were wholly not involved in the act.
In a back-and-forth interview hosted by radio presenter Abeiku Santana on OK FM’s drive show Ekwanso Dwoodwoo today, June 15, Robert Klah did not divulge who initiated the act of Amakye Dede crowning Kuami Eugene but also claimed there was nothing wrong with the act but for the controversy that has arisen following the former’s comment of being forced in that regard.
He continued to state his position that Amakye Dede wasn’t forced as he claimed; however, Charterhouse is also not the one who initiated the act since they did not have a hand in any act since it wasn’t illegal or negative.
“He didn’t say he was forced by the organizers. The fact that he said he was forced doesn’t mean it’s Charter House. You can’t force Amakye Dede.”
“If you bring your act and there is nothing illegal, foul, or negative about it, nothing prevents us from doing it. We will do it. There was no problem with the act just that the reason why we are having this conversation is because he complains of being forced. We were not responsible for the act.” He said.
Amakye Dede, on the other hand, stood his ground that he was forced to crown Kuami and revealed that one Kiki gave him the crown even though he tried to ditch it. He ranted on the radio over how legendary musician Charles Aboagye used vulgar words for him.
“It is Kiki who forced me. I gave it to robber man to put it down. I can’t do that. Charles Amoah called me and asked me why I did it. They can call Kiki. Why should they do this to me. Was I not working with you so if you have stopped working with me, why should you use such vulgar words? Kwasi Aboagye called me that charter house was saying certain things so he wants to talk to me but when I called back his phone was off. Later when it got through, I said I didn’t want to talk to them.”
On May 19, 2019, the “highlife maestro” Amakye Dede Crowned Kuami Eugene as the Prince of Hi-life on the monumental VGMA stage at the Grand Arena after they did an electrifying performance together.
