Governance Africa Foundation Donates Pocket Size Constitution to Duo Concept Foundation

The Governance Africa Foundation, a Ghanaian non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering democratic culture in Ghana and across Africa, has made a generous donation to the Duo Concept Foundation in Accra. 

On February 29th, 2024, the Governance Africa Foundation presented 200 pocket-size copies of the Ghanaian Constitution to the Duo Concept Foundation, as part of their contribution to civic education and democratic awareness among the youth in the country.

In an exclusive interview with www.the1957news.com, Mr. Odamtey, representing the Governance Africa Foundation, highlighted the importance of supporting the Duo Concept Foundation’s effort to empower young people in inner cities across Accra, who are less privileged.

Mr. Odamtey expressed his organization’s commitment to empowering young adults with essential knowledge about their rights and responsibilities. Mr. Odamtey revealed the Governance Africa Foundation’s future plans to produce Braille versions of the constitution, for visually impaired individuals. 

He also revealed that, collaborative efforts with the Duo Concept Foundation are underway to introduce illustrated versions of the constitution to enhance educational outreach in primary schools, laying the groundwork for informed citizenship from an early age.

The lead facilitator of the Duo Concept Foundation, Md Kate Addo, expressed the Foundation’s gratitude to the Governance Africa Foundation for their donation and csupport. 

Stressing the critical role of constitutional education in shaping future leaders, Miss Kate Addo underscored the significance of engaging inner-city youth, particularly in marginalized communities, where access to resources remains limited.

“We are immensely grateful to Mr. Odamtey and the Governance Africa Foundation for personally delivering the copies of the constitution to our office,” Ms Kate Addo said. 

She emphasized the impact that such contributions have on empowering disadvantaged youth and fostering civic engagement within communities.

Duo Concept Foundation, founded by twin brothers Panin and Kakra Acheampong, aims to equip young adults with the knowledge and resources necessary to become informed and engaged citizens, thereby contributing to the advancement of Ghana’s democratic principles and social development. The non profit organization, targets children in marginalized and disadvantaged groups and offers peer mentorship as well as philanthropic aid.
