Already signed pink sheet pops up in Kumawu’s ongoing by-election

An already signed pink sheet has been detected by Mr. Nurudeen Hamidan, an executive of the opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the ongoing by-election in Kumawu to elect a parliamentary candidate following the death of the incumbent.

In view of this, Mr. Hamidan has warned all party agents at the various polling stations in the Kumawu Constituency not to sign pink sheet until the election ends.

In an interview, Mr. Nurudeen Kumawu, the former Chief Executive of Asokore Mampong, urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to ensure that no already signed pink sheet is used in the election.

Currently, the already signed pink sheet has allegedly been changed whilst some NDC party agents at the various polling stations have been changed.

The party is engrossed in ensuring that, the election will be free and fair.Relevant sources indicate that, peace is reigning at the various polling stations at the aforementioned constituency, although the total number of persons registered and the number of persons who have voted so far is a little beneath average.

The ongoing by-election in Kumawu Constituency is being organized by the Electoral Commission to elect a substitute for the deceased Member of Parliament, Mr. Philip Basoah who passed on in March, this year.

The parliamentary candidates vying for the position as the Member of Parliament for Kumawu Constituency are: National Democratic Congress’ Akwasi Amankwaa, famously known as ‘Tom Cee’, Ernest Yaw Anim of National Patriotic Party (NPP), and two other independent candidates who bear the same name, Kwaku Duah.
