Hon. Naa Koryoo Vows to Rebrand Kasoa as Hub for Investment and Inclusive Development

Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hon. Dr. Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, has pledged her continued commitment to transforming Kasoa into a center for economic growth and investment.

Speaking at the Annual Sala Durbar of Tribal Chiefs held at the Odupongkpehe School Park in Kasoa-Zongo, she stated, “I have taken a personal lead in rebranding Kasoa as a home for investment.”

According to the MP, engagements are already underway with private sector players in real estate, logistics, and agro-processing to establish operations in the constituency. These efforts, she said, are aimed at driving job creation, improving infrastructure, and fostering sustainable development. “This is not talk. It is movement,” she emphasized.

The event, held under the theme “Unity is Strength,” brought together traditional leaders, Imams, youth leaders, traders, Zongo elders, and dignitaries from various sectors.

She used the occasion to highlight initiatives already underway, including plans for a local youth resource center. In partnership with the Municipal Assembly and private investors, the center will host training programs and serve as a hub for startup support.

She also praised the swift and impactful policies of the NDC government under President John Dramani Mahama, referencing the abolition of the E-Levy, betting tax, and VAT on electricity for lifeline consumers. Additionally, she acknowledged the significant reduction in Hajj costs from GHS75,000 to below GHS62,000, making the pilgrimage more accessible to Muslims.

“This is more than policy—it is compassion,” she noted, emphasizing the importance of inclusive governance and relief for ordinary Ghanaians.

Hon. Naa Koryoo concluded her address with a message of hope and unity, assuring constituents that Kasoa and Zongo communities will remain central to Ghana’s development agenda.
