Member of the Communications team of the National Democratic Congress, Edward Mortey has announced the sudden passing away of his father Christian K. Mortey in a press release today.
In a press release dated 17th September, Edward Mortey announced his father’s demise with an adage as his caption “The Big Tree has fallen MR CHRISTIAN A. K MORTEY”
In the release, he expressed the gap that has been created by the departure of his father’s soul and prayed that God console the family.
He also expressed gratitude for the condolences, love, and support his acquaintances showed following his father’s demise.
“I am grateful for the numerous calls and messages filled with words of encouragement. Your care is truly appreciated” he said.
He then noted that the funeral arrangements would be communicated when the time is due.
Edward Mortey is a staunch member of the current opposition party the National Democratic Congress. He has served the party for over 15 years and occupies the office of the deputy constituency communication officer for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro.
He declared his intention to run for the position of the Greater Accra Regional Deputy Youth Organizer on October 10, 2022, but unfortunately lost the elections.
