The 70-year-old veteran politician and candidate for the ‘All Progressives Congress (APC) has been declared the winner of Nigeria’s 2023 fierce general elections.
The official results shared show that Mr. Tinubu won 36% against his tight competitors Mr. Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi who had 29% and 25% votes respectively.
During his reign as the governor, and being one of Nigeria’s richest assets, his campaign was focused on rebuilding Nigeria’s biggest city, Lagos.
He owns against Social media’s most approved candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, a candidate for the youth whose first arrival at the presidential election caused a shake amongst the renowned two parties in the country.
“Political Godfather”, a name given to him (Bola Tinubu) by his home region had an impact as he own most of the other states in the South-West.
After two terms in office as the President of Nigeria, President Mahammadu Buhari will be stepping down as Tinubu takes over office.
Mr. Tinubu’s slogan for his campaign “It’s my turn” will have to effectuate and bear fruitful results since he is about to take over an unstable and less developed country coupled with intense insecurity and issues related to religious differences.
