Osman Ayariga Chairs Technical Working Committee for National Apprenticeship Program

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), Osman Ayariga, has been appointed to chair the Technical Working Committee of the National Apprenticeship Program.

The announcement was made, by George Opare Addo, Minister of Youth, Development and Empowerment, during the official inauguration of the committee at the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment in Accra.

The National Apprenticeship Program, a key initiative under the government’s youth empowerment agenda, aims to equip young Ghanaians with essential technical and vocational skills to enhance employability and entrepreneurship.

The program forms part of broader efforts to bridge the skills gap and reduce unemployment by providing structured training opportunities across various sectors.

The Technical Working Committee, chaired by Ayariga, will oversee the implementation of the program, ensuring that its objectives align with national policies on youth development. The committee comprises representatives from key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry players, and training institutions.

Speaking at the inauguration, Osman Ayariga reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the apprenticeship program effectively addresses the skills deficit among Ghanaian youth.

The National Apprenticeship Program is expected to serve as a catalyst for job creation, economic growth, and skills development, ultimately contributing to Ghana’s long-term workforce readiness and industrialization goals.
