Popular Ghanaian YouTuber, Wode Maya has lost access to his over 1 Million Subscribers’ YT channel1z to hackers.
The unfortunate news broke on tweeter on Thursday evening and has left netizens in despair, wondering how it happened.
After taking over the channel, the hackers deleted all contents Wode Maya had shared on the channel, changed his user name, and changed the profile, channel name, and other details, thus claiming ownership of the channel.
The hacker, MicroStrategy has been streaming a live fundraiser Bitcoin video on the channel with over 5.3K live viewers. The flyer of the fundraiser video read ‘Event now: Hurry Up!’
The YouTuber is yet to make any official statement on the matter and it is still unclear if he can get access to it again however, other popular Youtuber voices including Jessica Opare Sarforo, have been drawing the attention of Youtube, the popular Video platform to help Wode Maya retrieve his channel.

YouTube in a swift response asked that Wode Maya is made to contact them with his contact details as soon as possible. “mind asking the channel owner to contact us so that we can help? appreciate it mind asking the channel owner to contact us so that we can help? appreciate it”
What has been established is so far as the hacker deleted all his over 1000 contents, there is no way Wode Maya can retrieve them even if he gets the channel back.
Many people on Twitter reacting to the topic are optimistic that Wode Maya will get the channel back as he’s not the first to have suffered this fate.
