He further reminisced about fond moments he and his wife, Lordina Mahama, shared with the late Pope during a visit to the Vatican.

“I fondly remember visiting the Vatican with my wife, Lordina, where we had the distinct honour of meeting Pope Francis.”

Touching on the Pope’s leadership qualities across geopolitical and religious spheres, President Mahama highlighted his compassion, commitment, and humility.

“His legacy of compassion, humility, and commitment to social justice will continue to inspire generations. His leadership and advocacy for the poor and marginalized resonate deeply.

May his soul rest in perfect peace,” he added.
