Ghanaian Reggae Dancehall Artiste, Stonebwoy’s ‘into the future’ song tops 100 songs in Ghana on Boomplay.
Afropop and Reggae Dancehall Artiste, Livingstone Etse Satekla, known by the stage name Stonebwoy released his ‘5th Dimension’ album on April, 28, 2023 through Def Jam Recordings. According to the America’s Billboard’s sales tracker, Luminate, the album is soaring as it is reported to have sold 1,000 units from sales and streaming in the United States during its first week.
Subsequently in Ghana, ‘into the future’ which comes off ninth on his 5th Dimension album has topped Boomplay’s Top 100 songs streamed in Ghana. With the highest streams from 12 to 18th May, 2023 it came first over Omah Lay’s Soso and Spyro’s who is your guy remix.
The song has been doing tremendously well after it’s release. This feat also corroborates the Artiste’s Album making waves in the Us and UK.
The VGMA 24 AfroPop song of the year and Reggae Dancehall Reggae Artiste’s 5th Dimension album debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart, a weekly listing that ranks the most popular Reggae albums in the United States based on sales and streaming.
This is in no way a fluke as the Albums project debuted No. 8 on the Official Afrobeats Charts in the UK following it’s release. The album added up to the ranks of other successful release in the reggae genre.
He records his second time appearance on Billboard Chart as three years ago, his ‘nominate’ featuring US R&B singer, Keri Hilson debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales Chart.
His debut collection under Def Jam, 5th Dimension features Dancehall artists like Dexta Daps on Secret Lover and Shaggy on My Sound. The 17 track list also features Afrobeats stars Angélique Kidjo, Oxlade, Davido, Tiwa Savage, and South African amapiano progenitor DJ Maphorisa.
