The widow of the late Dr. Abeyie Boakye Atonsah Prempeh, a respected lecturer at the Ghana Medical School, has made a public appeal to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the President of Ghana for protection from Theophilus Teiko Tagoe, who has allegedly demolished their home in East Legon, Accra.
Mrs. Faustina Prempeh claims that shortly after her husband’s passing, Tagoe, accompanied by armed men in police uniforms and bulldozers, forcibly entered the property and began destroying their house, asserting ownership over the land.
Speaking at a press conference, a visibly distressed Mrs. Prempeh urged the authorities to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible, including the alleged police officers involved, are held accountable.
The Nungua Stool, which Mr. Tagoe claimed had authorized the demolition, has since dissociated itself from him, stating that the act was unauthorized and illegal.
